I was first licensed in 1961 as WV6RLL as a novice while in High School. Over the years held the calls of WA6RLL, WA0ZBZ (Colorado) back to Calif. And again WB6EMV and finally N6FME. 3/26/09 Applied for vanity call of K7FME.
I mostly work CW and some PSK31. Since moving to Sparks and having to deal with CC&R'S I have found a new joy of QRP Operations. I gave up a large antenna farm when I moved and now work with a Flagpole Vertical. Yes, you can make about anything radiate if you try. I feed my Flagpole with a SGC turner at the base of the pole and it will tune 80 thru 10 meters.
The current rigs in use are the FT 1000 MP Mrk 5 , IC 707 , IC 706 and my 'ol HW8.
Since retirement we enjoy traveling with our motor home and I have a screwdriver ant on the rear and enjoy all modes and bands while stationary.... no mobile in motion !!!
After joining the Reno QRP Group and not wanting to be left out I upgraded to Extra. May have not done that without feeling the pressure.... Thanks guys !!!!!
