Raised in Las Vegas NV. Enlisted in the USN in 1958. Retired a Master Chief Petty Officer in 1988. Have also held the callsign VK6AVP. Have used the callsign WA6OVP/KC4 when operating from Antarctica. Operated QRP last two favorable sunspot cycle on ten and fifteen meters Phone and CW. Currently working mostly psk-31 on twenty and forty meters, using 10 watts or less to a ground mounted Butternut vertical antenna. Have made 11,903 PSK-31 qso's. I just call CQ or answer stations calling CQ or CQDX. Best DX so far on PSK-31 - while calling CQ, was called by and worked China twice. Happily married to Dee Arnold KA7LOZ for 42 years. We are very proud of our four children. Dee is also very active in amateur radio. No where near as lazy as I might appear, I have worked the last seventeen years at Circus-Circus Reno NV. My circus job is that of a tram car people mover mechanic.When not doing tram work for Circus I do typical Circus Engineering Department work.
